In short: Some links on Max on the Move are affiliate links, mostly through the Travelpayouts network. If you book through them, I may earn a small commission. You pay exactly the same price, and it never influences what I recommend.
Max on the Move is an independent travel blog. I write every guide myself, based on places I have visited and experiences I have paid for or tried in person. Running the site costs money for hosting, tools and travel, and affiliate commissions are one of the ways I keep all guides free to read. This page explains openly how that works.
What Is an Affiliate Link?
An affiliate link is a normal link to a booking or shopping website that contains a small code identifying this blog. If you click it and book a hotel, a tour, a ticket or an eSIM within a certain time, the provider knows the booking came from Max on the Move and pays me a small share of its own revenue.
- No extra cost: the price is the same as if you visited the website directly. The commission comes from the provider, not from you.
- No obligation: you are never required to use my links. You can always search for the same offer yourself.
- No access to your data: I never see your name, contact details or payment information. I only receive anonymous booking statistics, such as the number of bookings and the commission.
Travelpayouts: My Main Affiliate Partner
Most affiliate links on this site are provided by Travelpayouts, a travel affiliate network that connects travel bloggers with booking platforms. Instead of signing separate contracts with every company, I use Travelpayouts to create links to its partner brands. You can recognize these links because they usually start with short addresses such as tpo.lv or tp.st before forwarding you to the provider.
Through Travelpayouts, I currently link to these providers:
- Klook: tours, activities, attraction tickets, rail passes and airport transfers
- Booking.com: hotels, ryokan and apartments
- Agoda: hotels and accommodation, especially in Asia
- Trip.com: flights, trains and hotels
- Tripadvisor: tours and experiences
- Yesim: eSIMs for mobile data while traveling
Some pages may also include booking widgets or search boxes from Travelpayouts, for example to compare hotel or flight prices. These work the same way: if you book through them, I may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. The list of partners can change over time as I add or remove programs.
How Tracking Works
When you click an affiliate link, the provider or Travelpayouts may store a cookie in your browser. This cookie only records that you came from this website, so the booking can be credited to me. How long it stays active depends on the provider. You can block or delete these cookies in your browser settings or limit them in the cookie banner. More details are in my Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
How I Choose What to Recommend
- I recommend places, tours and products because I think they are genuinely useful for your trip, not because they pay a commission.
- Many places I write about have no affiliate program at all, and I recommend them anyway.
- If something was disappointing, I say so, even if an affiliate link exists for it.
- Prices, opening hours and availability can change. Always check the details on the provider’s website before you book.
Sponsored Content and Invitations
If a company invites me, provides an experience free of charge or at a reduced price, or pays for a post, I state this clearly in the article itself. My opinion stays my own, and I do not accept payment for positive reviews.
Advertising
This website may also show ads served by Google AdSense. These ads are selected automatically by Google, and I do not choose individual advertisers. Google may use cookies to show ads based on your interests; you can manage this in the cookie banner and in Google’s ad settings.
How Affiliate Links Are Marked
All affiliate links on this site are technically marked as sponsored links, as recommended by Google, so search engines can tell them apart from normal editorial links.
