It was an ideal place for privacy, allowing us to unwind after a long day of travel. However, the villa was also quite far from the nearest train station, located about 25 minutes on foot through a scenic forest path. This means that if you’re planning to stay somewhere similar, be prepared for a bit of walking, especially if you plan to rely on public transportation.
The nearest train station only has a train running every hour or so, so be sure to factor that into your plans. Next time, we’ll definitely opt for accommodation that’s closer to the station to save time and energy.
The Shuttle to the Festival: A Challenge
By 6 PM, we headed to the train station for the first day of the festival. The good news was that the shuttle to the festival from Izu Inatori station was free, and it took us directly to the venue. The shuttle service runs every 15 minutes, which is fantastic, but here’s the catch—it stops at 9 PM. This limitation is something to keep in mind if you plan on staying at a villa far from the festival grounds.
If you miss the shuttle after 9 PM, you’ll need to find your way back to the station on your own, and this could be tricky. Even though the festival is hosted in Japan, about 50% of the attendees are foreigners, with a large number of international couples, adding to the Western-influenced vibe.
The stunning scenery, combined with a great lineup of music, makes Rainbow Disco Club one of Japan’s must-visit music festivals. From the moment you arrive, you are welcomed into an international atmosphere where everyone comes together to enjoy the music and the culture.

One of the biggest highlights of the Rainbow Disco Club Festival is undoubtedly the music. With an incredible lineup of international and local talent, there’s no shortage of amazing performances.
Some of my personal favorites included Soichi Terada, Chaos in the CBD, Antal, and Palms Trax. The diversity of musical genres, from house to techno, ensured that everyone found something they loved. Each set brought something new to the table, from deep house grooves to energetic techno beats, creating an electric atmosphere.
The closing set by Palms Trax on the RDC stage was unforgettable. With mesmerizing lights and a pulsating crowd, it felt like a celebration of all things music. The light show, in particular, added an extra dimension to the experience, making it a sensory overload in the best possible way.

Another standout aspect of the festival was the food. While festivals in Europe can sometimes fall short when it comes to food offerings, Rainbow Disco Club Festival 2025 raised the bar with its wide range of delicious options.
The food area was filled with stalls offering a variety of international and Japanese dishes. We tried everything from fried oysters (where you can play a balancing game to win an extra oyster) to grilled fish, soba, udon, burgers, Beef Stroganoff, and even Cuban sandwiches. Everything was cooked to perfection, and each dish was packed with flavor.
The food prices were incredibly affordable, too. Most dishes ranged from 600 yen to 1500 yen, which is very reasonable for a festival. And, surprisingly, many vendors accepted PayPay as payment, though the lack of internet connectivity at the venue meant it wasn’t always possible to use it. But when it worked, it was convenient and quick.
The highlight for me was the grilled fish and the Cuban sandwich, which were both amazing. The prices were incredibly fair for a festival, and the food was much better than what you would find at a typical European festival. If you’re a foodie, Rainbow Disco Club Festival 2025 will not disappoint!
Drinks: The Redbull Stage Controversy
Now, let’s talk about drinks. The festival’s main Redbull Stage was a bit of a letdown when it came to beverages. They only served long drinks with Red Bull, which means that if you wanted to enjoy a cocktail like a highball, you were forced to buy a Red Bull for every drink.
The drinks themselves were fairly affordable at 700 yen, but when you add Redbull and water to make a highball, you’re looking at 1200 yen per drink. While this isn’t overly expensive, it did become a bit of a hassle to keep buying Redbull each time.
The best solution? Simply walk over to the food area and buy drinks from a normal bar. There, you can get cocktails without the mandatory Redbull, and the prices are much more reasonable. If you don’t want to deal with this issue, make sure to plan and buy drinks in the food area, where you’ll find a wider variety of beverages.
The Festival Logistics: Shuttle Woes and Travel Challenges
Shuttle Service: Sold Out and Poorly Organized
One of the biggest pain points we encountered during the Rainbow Disco Club Festival 2025 was the shuttle service. As I mentioned earlier, the festival shuttle runs every 15 minutes, but it stops at 9 PM, which is a big inconvenience if you’re staying far from the festival grounds.
On the first night, we tried to take the shuttle at 1 AM, but unfortunately, it was already sold out. This meant that we had to find a taxi to get back to our villa. Taxis are available, but there are only two taxi companies, and one only accepts cash while the other accepts PayPay.
While we were lucky enough to find a legal taxi, it’s worth noting that there are also illegal taxis in the area, which could pose a safety risk. The shuttle tickets being sold out weeks in advance is also a big downside, and it’s something the festival organizers really need to improve upon.
Taxi Trouble: Limited Options and Long Waits
The next day, we realized that the train to the festival station hadn’t come for over two hours, so we decided to call a taxi. This worked out well, but taxi availability is limited, so if you’re planning to rely on this form of transport, be prepared for long wait times. Alternatively, you could reserve a taxi in advance, which would save you the hassle of trying to hail one at the last minute.
If you’re planning to attend the festival, my advice is to book transportation ahead of time. The shuttle system needs improvement, and relying on taxis can be tricky, so try to plan as much as possible.
The Experience: Tips and Recommendations for Future Attendees
Book Early
The biggest takeaway from our experience at Rainbow Disco Club Festival 2025 is that you should book everything early—tickets, accommodation, and transportation. The festival sells out quickly, and if you want to avoid the stress we went through with the shuttle and taxi situation, securing your plans ahead of time is crucial.
Next year, we’ll make sure to reserve our shuttle tickets as soon as they become available. Additionally, we’ll choose a place to stay that’s closer to the festival or even on-site to avoid the long journey.
Don’t Forget the Kids (and Dogs)
For families, there’s a dedicated kids’ area at the festival where children can play and have fun. This makes Rainbow Disco Club a family-friendly event, which is a rare find in many festivals worldwide. If you’re attending with young ones, take advantage of this area to let them enjoy the experience as well. Additionally, the festival is dog-friendly, so feel free to bring your furry friends along to enjoy the music and vibrant atmosphere with you! It’s a great opportunity to experience the festival as a family, pets included.
The Final Day: Departure
On the last day, we faced another challenge—the coin lockers at Izu Inatori station were sold out. However, we learned that you could ask the staff to hold your luggage for a small fee (1000 yen per bag), and they would keep it safe until 5:30 PM, when you could retrieve it. This is something that wasn’t clearly communicated, so I made sure to inform other confused festival-goers.

In the end, Rainbow Disco Club Festival 2025 was an unforgettable experience. The location, the music, and the food all came together to create an amazing atmosphere.
